It has definitely been a year of making decisions, failing and growing but still, it's part of life. If God wants and allows me to go through these things, then I will surely say, bring it on! The rest of 2011 will go by even faster, at least I want it to because by the end, I can excitedly say, I will be a Mrs. and that is an adventure I have been waiting for :)

My sisters and I brunched at the Original Pancake House. Eh, it had its quirks: the parking lot was small, I practically parked at the farthest spot available...

The line was a bit long...

Everyone sits real close and gets all up in your pictures...

But in spite of that....It was soooo worth it! Come on, look at that German pancake! And look at the rest of our amazing food...

*Not pictured: my magic coffee cup that never reached half-empty. I kept on laughing coz after 2-3 sips, they kept on refilling my cup. But seriously, that alone makes it worth it for me!

Ahhh, can't wait to go back again. Next time, I'll convince my sisters if we can go a bit earlier to avoid the lines.

My cousin Joleanne and niece Maryanne spent the weekend at my house and its been really refreshing having these 2 girls at home. They always wanna do something, anything so my sisters and I have been taking turns doing various activities with them. Early Saturday morning, they wanted to just spend the time crafting so I let them go wild with all my supplies. I haven't touched my stash so it was nice that they wanted to make stuff.

They made posters for everyone in the house, including door signs for everyone's bedrooms. Jules made me a card which I thought was really cute...She really let her imaginations go wild with the stamps lol.

I thought the card was so brilliant. Until I saw my sisters' and saw they got the same exact note inside. FAIL! LOL

My book selections as of late have been kinda eh. I've been picking books out of convenience. I've literally picked books out of the recommended shelf. But it's turned out pretty good.
Got curious and finally picked up the book...

It was entertaining but not as good as I thought it would be. Maybe I'll try other Dan Browns.
I found some youth fiction which had its good parts but mostly a little too junior high for me.

This next read was a really good read for me. It had youth characters in the midst of an exciting alternate reality. I heard it's going to be made into a movie so that's pretty exciting. I would want to see how this plays out in film. I also checked out the sequel so that will be next month's read.

I've also started a new chapter in my life story. I'm finally working on finishing up my BS degree in Nursing. Wow, I'm so excited but it has added a lot more work, not to mention more reading!

I'm also in the midst of Deuteronomy...it's very helpful that I'm teaching through the Old Testament in my Sunday School class. I'm getting the kids to read the Bible with me, what a blessing!

This time, it was for my dear cousin who just got her own cute space. The night was awesome-food, drinks, games...so much fun!

When the guests left is when the real party started...Trivial Pursuit! I've never played but this is super fun! I want one!

After hours of playing, a million questions later, we finally had a winner :)

I haven't had a late night without books and a computer in a while- it was sooo great. Thanks cuz!

I'm always up for some playtime! Our good friends came down from Arizona for a little vacation. So we acted like little kids, took some days off and just gallavanted around.

Since our friends love visiting Disneyland, we got to go too and I saw Captain EO FOR THE FIRST TIME! I didnt know what to expect since Gabe didn't tell me nothing but I couldnt stop laughing and dancing during the show. I almost got up to boogie but I didnt want to get kicked out so I held myself back. For now.

That was a nice little break for just a little while. Oh I hope they come back soon to visit!

My mom had a sleepover for the kids at church (which was crazyy, oh my!) with a day trip scheduled for the next day. However, it was still raining and we could not, should not have the kids cooped up in the house all day so we needed a free field trip for them. Thank God for the California Science Center!

Ok, so another thing I'm gonna tackle and stay consistent on is my reading. After all, I'm a fan n reading the printed word.

First is the Bible and for this month, its the book of Genesis/Exodus. I'm debating whether to do the reading plan of the church or try to finish For The Love of God. We'll see....

The other read will be something random, recommended or just spotted.

This month's read was The Historian. Pretty interesting historical fiction story.

It was a long but good read. I actually read this a few years ago but I guess I needed a 2nd time to really get this. I also judge a book based on if it would make a good movie and I thought it really would. And after a little research, I found out there IS going to be a movie. Soon! I'm excited! And I'm glad I finished the book before everyone goes on a hype right before the movie.

Ok, so I don't have too many close friends I've known forever besides my sisters so it's really special to me that my friendship with Grace still stands strong. Due to our busy schedules, we hardly get to see each other except to exchange Christmas and birthday presents. She's just one of those people that I don't hardly get to talk and see but when I do, it's like nothing's changed! Isn't that a blessing?!

We always start lunch/dinner with some libations so this time we got a pitcher of "koolade"

I love love love thrift shopping! The only thing is, most of the time, you have to see past the original item and imagine its potential. For me, it's usually the typical hem and take in, but other times, it needs a total reconstruction. Since my sisters and I go thrift shopping during our vacations, we come home with new-old stuff. Our last vacation included stopping by some stores in the San Diego County, but since it was around the holidays, I'm only getting around to alterations now.

Wow. It's the start of a new decade. Crazy but I'm so grateful. Yikes, that also means I'm getting older, but then again, so is everybody else. Hope everyone had a grand time ringing in the new year. For the first time this decade, mine was spent with my immediate family AND church family. PTL for God's goodness this last year and excited for what 2010 (two thousand ten or twenty-ten?) will bring.

To start the Christmas holiday spirit, my sister & sister hosted their seasonal boutique party. I regretfully had to work that day but I helped prep by frosting these luscious cupcakes which were beautifully decorated afterwards. Yea, I had to taste some as soon as I got home.

They tasted as good as they looked. Maybe not the chocolate ones ( I don't really care for chocolate.) Next time you want to celebrate an upcoming holiday or event, just bake some cupcakes and decorate them accordingly. They really help get you excited for what's to come!

We didn't get to go and see everything the first time around so we came back for more.

Afterwards, we went to Little Italy to get some lunch for a picnic.

After our lunch, we took an afternoon nap at the park. Before heading back home, we stopped by Chinatown to get some gifts to take back home...

The next day, we wanted to go drive out to the vineyards and wineries.
First stop, Kendall-Jackson.

I never knew there were green/purple grapes! They tasted good too!

We also visited their pretty garden.

Next stop was Ledson Winery.

Don't we look like we're doing a "Welcome to our new home" pose? Yea, I wish.

Up next was a quick visit to Napa and back to Sonoma...

Yea, one of the reasons I voted to go to Sonoma was for The Cheese Factory. It's that good. I sampled about very single cheese. Twice. Ok some were three-timers. HAHA. What can I say, I love cheese. Thank God I'm not lactose intolerant.

Gotta take some wine for that cheese, you know.

Midweek, we went on a day trip to San Francisco since we all love it. We make our usual stops at our favorite places as well as some new sites we want to visit.

Downtown...

Had a picnic and walked around to see some color (it was a very cold and gray day)...

And made a stop at Fisherman's Wharf to eat and play...

It was a really cold day, but it's San Francisco, what do you expect? It was fun driving and walking around and there are so much places to stop and look that we decided one day wasn't enough. So before it got too dark to drive home, we left and promised to return soon...

On Monday morning, we decided to explore a little more so we drove to find thrift stores around. We found a few good ones and some really great ones.

I wanted the hat, shoes, some old perfume bottles, an exercise bike, and that fan but in the end, ended up getting a dress, a skirt, and some books. Hehe! I love how different thrift stores have tons of the same thing- it kinda tells you what the people are about :)

After a day of driving and walking, we stopped at the town square to visit the shops and get some treats.

Sonoma County is full of small towns that have many wonderful little things to do. After visiting a church, we started looking for a cupcakery but ended up at an old train station/museum/wine festival/concert. How awesome is that!

For our summer holiday, my family decided to visit Sonoma County and it was one of the best vacations we've taken. We drove through the coast and made a few fun stops.

Driving up the coast...

Stopped by to see the Hearst Castle. We saw it. From way away.

Then we made a yummy stop at Castroville, the artichoke capital of the world.

After 1082140375r45 miles of driving, me made it to our quaint little home for the next week. Can't wait for quality family time!

This year's VBS was such an amazing time spent in singing, dancing, teaching, learning, playing and eating. I really thank God for what He did this week. I didn't know what to expect but I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this ministry. Here are some snapshots of the week. Sorry, but I'm biased towards my own class-the Baby Roos.

Thursday night was spent at the OC Fair. Good times as usual!

Rides were soooo much fun and $1 til 7pm...

We also took in a show. It was really entertaining!

Last but not least, the FOOD!!!!

This the best funnel cake I've ever tasted! Doesn't even compare to Disneyland's or Knott's. Yea, it beat the deep-fried cupcake. Oh man, I can't wait to look for it at the LA Fair...

With all this goodness, it was another fun celebration with the family!

So Hazel's birthday week has come and this is what we've been up to this week...

First up, a lunch at Little Ocha-our fave family Thai place. It's never super busy and you eat within 10-15 minutes of ordering. We always leave really full and they have great service. If you're in LB, it's a good spot to visit.

We usually do one day of pampering so on Tuesday, we visited our local salon and got some pedicures!

Wednesday was cupcake day so we visited cupcakeries in the OC. First was Mrs. Beasley's...

I really liked this shop. It's located right across the street from South Coast Plaza so it's easy to find. And I love when cupcakeries have mini cupcakes since I can never really eat a whole cupcake anymore so that's a plus. Next stop was French's Cupcake Bakery, also in Costa Mesa.

Their cupcakes were not as good as they looked but I would definitely stop by there again for all their other pastries. And they have lots of bread that looked and smelled soooo good so maybe I'll try that next time.

So that's it for now. But it's just midweek so we have plenty more to celebrate. To be continued...

I wish summer-no school, a break from work, time to work out for reals, doing whatever whenever, can last forever and ever and ever...

But, it's only a wish. Reality starts August 26.

Until then, however, there's still lots of fun stuff in store. Can't wait for sister's birthday week, VBS, more Disneyland trips, our much anticipated family vacation and numerous Transit Earth concerts...

My parents are home from their european holiday. Yay!
And they brought home a little euro with them. Yay Yay!

Even euro ketchup looks fancier than ours.

European shoes! They look so classic and I'm happy to know I have some kicks that are NOT made in China:)

I love that they took a gazillion pictures and videotaped their way around Switzerland, Germany, and France. This will make for an interesting and fun week of storytelling!

...on my scrapbooking. Too many pictures and supplies have stacked up, which means that I have been waaaay behind. So, today I brought them out and started scrapping along. Here are some results:

Nonetheless, I got a lot accomplished today with the help of Jack Bauer-I am now officially caught up with 24 Season 7! (I cannot watch this show during the regular season because it's too intense. Hence, I waited until I can watch it straight through.)

Anyways, the rest of the layouts were not photographed since I continued on til the late hours of the night. And after awhile, it seemed funny to me to take pictures of pictures so I just kept on going. Many more little books and frames and pages to do but that's ok, I have the summer to do it:)

At least once a year, the family goes to see the Dodgers play, courtesy of Nestle. This year we got to take another family with us and it was just as fun. Also, it was 80s night so we were watching 80s music videos all night-awesome!

And of course, they won against the PHillies with a double in the bottom of the 9th!

My first time and it won't be the last! We went for free but I definitely want to go back and won't mind paying to get in. It's so beautiful there! It's so amazing that we have a Creator who can create immense grand things yet pays attention to the very littlest detail too. All this was evident at the Huntington Library.

Gabe's birthday was on Saturday so off we went to Disneyland!

I feel like it's been forever since I last came and I was so excited to be back! I love love love Disneyland! The weather was gray, not too hot nor cold so it was perfect. A bunch of million people thought so too coz it was pretty packed. We didn't get to go on a lot of stuff but that's ok:)We got annual passes so we'll definitely be back! Woohoo!

I hesitated even getting up coz I'm used to my room shaking from my lovely neighbors' AMAZINGLY LOUD music which does shake my walls from time to time.
But it was a real one so I got up but then really freaked out coz my door got stuck and I couldn't open it. Ah! By God's grace, it did stop and apparently, it didn't last as long as I though it did.

I've been thinking and praying and thinking some more about the possibility of opening up my own Etsy. It's worked for so many and it seems like fun!

I've had a stash of paper products sitting around that I want to share/sell so it seems like a good way to go about it. Hmm. I don't know. I'm going back and forth of the pros and cons and I can't make up my mind.

I was feeling inspired today so I started photographing some of my ideas.

What do you think? Any comments, advices, tips?

So here they are acting like they usually do. Timothy being silly, usually copying his siblings. Faith, I caught her eating and laughing at her brothers. Titus just kept doing Spiderman poses, while Fauna watches over them because she is suxh a good older sister. They are so fun to hang out with :)

Hazel and I went to visit the California Market Center to check out Unique LA and it was so crazy! I can't believe all those talented vendors handmakes all their products. It was great to see all the merchandise; I was mostly into the fashion and jewelry, but I had to hold myself back from buying almost everything. It was definitely worth it and we're definitely coming back again!

It's not that hard to prove God is real-He is everywhere! Since my mom has started her landscaping/gardening projects, it's so fun to see how our mini-plantation is slowly but surely growing! I'm so tempted to just pluck out what we planted to see if there's anything there yet!

Sunday was just so refreshing! Going to church-learning in Sunday school and again during the worship service was such a blessing and a great reminder that 1. "iron sharpening iron" is a tool to help us grow, 2. the death and resurrection of Christ was preached and it is so real! We need to be joyful about that, have confidence to talk about it, and compel us to consistently worship God...and I praise God for another upcoming church anniversary:)

Sunday night was THE Battle of the Bands Finals Round so that's where I was chillin at. Late Sunday night or early Monday morning, not sure when, I found out THEY WON 1st place! I already knew it was gonna happen but if you need convincing, listen here...

Also, this day marks the opening of the much anticipated faye&fayeco. shop! Browse through their lovely merchandise and support these girls!

Since I have no class and no work lined up this week, it's so easy for me to get into lazy mode so I told myself, "work now, play later." And I guess my mom's landscaping/gardening projects got to me and I wanted to be part of the action. So starting bright and early Monday morning, I got to work on our new fruit & veggie garden. And here are the results:

Currently planted: some peppers, parsley, various lettuces and beans. Not to mention our strawberries and grapes. And that's just what I can remember...I'm tempted everyday to pull them out thinking there's ripe produce waiting for me. But I know it takes time so I'll be waiting...

Well, the rest of the week was playtime which meant sister time! So Thursday was a faye&fayeco. photoshoot in Fullerton.

Friday night was the youth musical night and it was great! They did an amazing job through song and dance to tell about God's love and His plan of salvation. I'm glad they're doing an encore in a couple of weeks coz I can't wait to see it again!

And the rest of the night was spent being silly taking pictures as if we were the only ones there.

And Saturday was spent relaxing with family. Then a bbq over at Gabe's.

I've always wanted to visit and today was the big day...

I loved the outside peristyle and now I'm wondering the possibility of making my future backyard look exactly like this: long pool, statues, the whole enchilada...

The day was gray, but still great weather for walking around, oberving and picture taking. Though it was small and we were done with our self-tour before we knew it, I would definitely want to come back. It's free after all!

After a long break-up, I realized KingTaco actually makes something apart from red meat so we're back on.

Actually, it gets a little crazier inside-they have so many knick-knacks, it's awesome! And they have it separated into decades which makes it easier to find whatcha want.

Also, if you have any costume needs, this is the place-they rent out pretty cool outfits.

But don't get mad at me. I don't know the exact address or location to this place coz I never drive there. It's in Hollywood somewhere. Near Amoeba. Find it. You won't regret it.

One of the great things about living in Norwalk: very very near to the $1 theater! So after a quick dinner, my mom, Hazel, Sandy, me and Gabe went to see Twilight. $1 x 5 people=$5. $5! That alone was exciting to me. But not as exciting as watching everyone's faces at all the good scenes in the movies. Haha:) So picture this:

After months of saving up, resisting many temptations, it was time to do a little shopping. With sisters on hand, we visited our favorite shopping area to browse, bargain and buy. So we all got up early and headed on over to the fashion madness known as the Fashion District.

We all found some wonderful new garments comprised of dresses, skirts, coats and cardigans. I even scored a beautiful sample evening dress. But this is one of my faves- a new sequined cardigan!

Thanks Hazel for convincing me to grab this! And don't be jealous, it's under $10! Because, we were very thifty with our spending, we might go again this Saturday, aahhh I can't wait!

Reality is its gray everywhere, with a little hint of baby blue. I don't know about you all but i'm seeing cloudy, then rainy, then just cloudy, a little sunny, then rainy again. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's not-like when you're driving but suddenly can't see coz 1) it suddenly starts raining really heavy and 2) the sun is still shining sososo bright.

Weird.

So, I've decided to join Color Week and what-do-you-know, the color for this week is yellow, my fave! Holla! So this is what yellow monday looks like...

Ran some errands. Acquired some new stuff. Like new old stuff. That's the best thing about thrifting, taking home something new to you without spending a lot. Are you following me with this? Here, take a look...
I love reading books! I was hesitant to even look at the book section but I'm glad I did because I love finding good hardbound books that are actually interesting. The only bad part is I don't have any shelf space anymore so they can't join the others for now :( But they were a really good deal (60% off you-dont-even-wanna-know-the-real-price).

Also, Hazel got herself another Polaroid camera so she acquired a new treasure as well.

And, baby sister acquired her precious license today in the mail so CONGRATS again! We have a designated driver now! Kidding. Love you.

For our first adventure of the year, we headed over to the Korean Friendship Bell to maybe have a picnic or something. We found it fine, not as far as I thought, but when we got there it was chillywilly! Brrr!

So, the picnic idea was a no-go even though the sun started to shine afterwards-it was still so cold! We decided to have lunch indoors and ended up at one of our favorite eateries- Mimi's Cafe. Seriously we're such frequent diners that the waiter knew it was definitely not our first time. Haha. Anyways, lunch/dinner was delicioso as always then we headed to our next destination:

Christmas Tree Lane. We had wanted to do a drive-by to other light festivities but sadly, we got so busy in December, we couldn't. But Christmas Tree Lane was a sight to see and I'm glad we got to marvel a little before they were taken down.

I think it was a great way to start the new year with my family. How did your new year start?

Before tuning in to the classic New Year's Rockin' Eve with Dick Clark, me and my sisters headed over to rock out at Nu Roots '09. I am an official groupie of Transit Earth but I did find a new sound I liked in Joey's Dream. I like when music genres collide and you hear a little bit of pop, hip-hop, folk, soul, techno and all that good stuff. Anyways, it was a good finish to 2008.

Afterwards, we drove through the tricky fog to make it home in time for the countdown.
